In a new collaboration the Ear Foundation is teaming up with the reputable Red Earth Theatre Company to create a Drama Day suitable for Key Stage 2 children and their parents on Wednesday 1st June this year.

While the children are journeying into imaginary worlds and creating stories through drama, parents will be considering, through practical activities, how to support langauge development at home.

The Red Earth Theatre Company is committed, in its own words, to the  development of  ‘dynamic and inclusive theatre that reaches wider audiences’. Perhaps this is partly why they have recently received National Portfolio funding by Arts Council England.

My sister and nephew saw their superlative production ‘The Lost Happy Endings’ at Mac, Birmingham, this last Christmas and came away full of excitement and praise. This had a signed element to it which was sensitively and creatively done. (Blog on this site.)

On Red Earth’s blog, information is included re the deaf opera singer Janine Roebuck. More about her tomorrow, perhaps…
