I found some more information about this production on Disability Arts Online. No information that I can see on iplayer about the signed version. What happened to that then?

Hi Angie – I saw you’d left the address for ‘dramatic expressions’ in a comment on dao. Yes David Bower is the first Deaf actor to perform on radio. He is also did an excellent production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame for Radio 4 18 months ago which was written in association with Graeae Theatre Company. David is most known for the part he played in Four Weddings and a Funeral – as Hugh Grants Deaf brother.

Ah thanks, Colin. That’s really useful information. I’m just beginning to look into Graeae too. Yes, I remember David Bower in 4 Weddings…
By the way, is dao interested in new acting talent? One of my pupils, (in my capacity as a teacher of the deaf) is interested in an acting career.
Also, I am keen to help parents of deaf youngsters know about the fantastic interpreted performances out there in theatres. There is so much going on but no easy way of reaching families. Any thoughts?
